O'Mahony Donnelly's Management Team

Michael O'Mahony FCCA

Michael O'Mahony FCCA Michael qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant in August 1990, after intensive examinations and four years of studies at Thames Valley University in Berkshire, England. This was the completion of the first stage of his long-term career objective -- "to take my knowledge to the level where I could offer a quality financial service to Irish & UK based enterprises and individuals -- in my own accountancy practice". He spent the following years of his career developing the right blend of financial and business experience to achieve this objective.

He moved away from London for two years to the heart of the agricultural community in Banbury, Oxfordshire, where he worked primarily with farming clients -- "after working in London, this was a completely new adventure which broadened my experience in dealing with clients from entirely different business sectors."

For five years he practiced with Inghams, Chartered Accountants in Ruislip, North West London. At Inghams, he managed a range of small to large sized clients -- operating in the financial services, travel, manufacturing, construction, consultancy, retail, technology & distribution sectors -- with turnover ranging up to £20 million sterling for the largest client, a subsidiary of an international airline. In this capacity he was responsible for dealing with clients' senior personnel, often in growing owner-managed enterprises.

In January 1998 his period with Inghams, and in London, ended due to his decision to return to his family roots in County Cork, Ireland. During 1998 and 1999 he developed Irish based business contacts, updated his knowledge of Irish tax and company law -- and Irish business in general. A significant part of this time he worked with JB O'Sullivan & Co, one of Cork's leading accountancy practices and part of the international alliance with BDO Simpson Xavier. "Whilst there I gained exposure to their extensive entrepreneurial client base and the high level of service that they provided."

Towards the end of 1999 he decided to devote more time to his long held ambitions to begin his own business venture and established O'Mahony Donnelly. "After nearly 13 years working in accountancy practices in both Ireland & the UK, I achieved the professional objectives that I set at the beginning of my career as an accountant."

Ann Donnelly B.L.A.

Ann, originally from a small town in New York State, moved to New York City to attend The New School University. She received her B.A. degree while working full-time at the University, as the Manager of Fundraising Records and Systems. Here she was responsible for implementing a new mainframe computer system used to track the tens of thousands of people who graduated from the many schools of the University, as well as those that took just one course in the very popular adult education division.

In 1987, she moved to RR Donnelley & Sons Company, where she spent the next 11 years of her career. RR Donnelley is one of the world's foremost commercial printing companies, with around $5 billion in net sales, over 200 manufacturing facilities, and approximately 34,000 employees around the world. They are renowned for the training and development of their employees -- "Working for such a large and well respected company, I received a lot of experience dealing on a day-to-day basis with colleagues and vendors around the U.S. and worldwide. I also took advantage of the many formal training programs that the Company offers its employees -- these included business communications, human resources and sales/marketing."

From her initial position, as assistant to the Controller of the New York Financial Division, she was chosen to develop a new position as Paper Coordinator to purchase and manage the division's million dollar paper and ink inventories. To gain further technical experience, she then moved into Production Planning, responsible for scheduling work flow to meet the critical deadlines that financial documents require. Following this role, she moved to Sales in the company's Trade Book Division, working with Random House, the world's largest English-language general trade book publisher. Ann was then recruited back to the Financial Division, to work in the London office, where she became Manager of Customer Service, responsible for the 24-hour a day operation which coordinates the production and distribution around the world of the financial documents legally required for submission to trading authorities, shareholders and prospective investors. "Our clients were mainly investment bankers and corporate lawyers, who were working to tight deadlines to complete key financial deals."

Ann left RR Donnelley in 1998, to relocate to Ireland with her husband and establish O'Mahony Donnelly. Ann manages O'Mahony Donnelly E-Business, applying her print production and business management skills to the internet to help SMEs, Sole Traders and Community Groups to meet their goals; whether to increase sales, improve systems, communicate more efficiently or find new ways to network. "Michael and I share a strong work ethic, with the objective to provide a high standard of expertise and service to our clients."
