O’Mahony Donnelly, GDS & De Keijzer Nipius & Co are Enterprise Worldwide BIG WINNERS for October 2010!

Thursday, October 21st, 2010

Enterprise Worldwide -EW, highlights O’Mahony Donnelly Accountants high level of client service and marketing acumen.   ‘The Short Form’ published by EW in the October 2010 edition, outlines how we have shared a ‘delighted’ multi-natonal client with associate firms in Germany and The Netherlands. The full text is reproduced below.

Michael O’Mahony of O’Mahony Donnelly, the EW member in Cork, Ireland, demonstrated how he creates opportunities by combining external Five Star Client Service with his marketing acumen.  Michael’s skill explicitly benefitted two other EW firms, Max Schroepfer of GDS and Hugo Everaerd of De Keijzer Nipius & Co.  Michael has a multi-national client that shared with Michael that they were delighted with the work O’Mahony Donnelly had consistently performed.  Now that the member had recently completed a name change, they were ready to review their internal accounting processes.  Specifically, the client asked about resources in Germany and The Netherlands for their operations in those countries.  Michael connected the client with Max and Hugo.

Enterprise Worldwide had the right resources in the right places for this very important client.  Ironically, the connections were completed shortly after the International Services Forum where members were energized and educated.  The firms involved in this transaction immediately put into practice the teamwork and shared resources that are a hallmark of Enterprise Worldwide.  Congratulations Michael, Hugo and Max for demonstrating how our culture rallies around clients and creates revenue opportunities for our members!

International Accountancy Services

I have just made travel arrangements today for the upcoming Enterprise Worldwide ‘International Services Forum’being held in London, UK on 30th September to 01 October. This is an annual meeting for all members who provide International accounting & taxation services to their clients. The theme of this years meeting is ‘Building Bridges’ and there are some high edge topics on the agenda, including a talk by our own Social Media expert, Ann Donnelly on ‘Putting Social Media to Work in Your Accounting Firm’. Further topics will include Transfer Pricing & IFRS for SMEs

The meeting is a great opportunity to discuss our range of services with member firms including company formation, branch registration, corporation tax planning and any other services that are relevant to foreign business entities looking to establish their business in Ireland.

As the sole Irish member we will be effectively representing Accountants Ireland to the fellow members, many of whom are US based CPA accounting firms but also with a substantial number of European accountants/firms who all have clients operating internationally.

We currently have many clients who see us as experts on advising foreign entities on company set-up and ongoing accounting and taxation issues in Ireland.

Dividend Witholding Tax Exemption for Non-Resident Corporate Shareholders

Monday, May 24th, 2010

I was discussing with a new client today the new process for non-resident corporate shareholders to receive dividends from their Irish subsidiary. The latest Finance Bill has simplified the process of paying dividends free of Irish witholding tax, currently at 20% of the gross dividend.

Providing the non-resident company is located either in the EU (except for Ireland) or a double tax treaty country – DTT (of which there are currently 48 in force)  and a declaration has been made in the prescribed format then it is possible to pay dividends in this way.

How the dividends are then taxed in the recipients country of residence depends on the tax laws of that country.

If you would like assistance with this process either in Ireland and/or in the recipient country See O’Mahony Donnelly contact details.

We can also introduce you to one of our associated firms in Enterprise Worldwide who can assist with advice in the parent company’s country.

Irish Companies Doing Business Overseas – Foreign Legal & Registration Requirements

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

If you are an Irish business looking to establish markets in a foreign country you may have several business and legal registration requirements to fulfil before you can begin trading. This can be a particularly complex assignment and a huge obstacle given the differing legal, taxation and foreign registration requirements. Throw in to the ‘mix’ a foreign country who is non-English speaking and you may be asking yourself, ‘where do I start’?

We can simplify this process for you by introducing you to  one of our associated member firms in Enterprise Worldwide. With members throughout Europe, North & South America, Asia & Australia we have worldwide reach.

We work closely with our associates to provide you with a cost effective, workable solution to your business needs.
